Who Should Live Here?

Rotation Destination is intended to serve med students in two different ways. One group includes individual students typically starting their first year of med school. If you are coming from another city, state, or country, what better way to find a quality place to live and not have to worry about ongoing hassles and expenses throughout your first year in a new place? Each student has his or her own private space while sharing a kitchen and living room area with others also in a medical program.

Another option is for med students who are about to begin rotations. If a group of current students wants to have a home base for local rotations and periodic times back on campus, they can go in together for a house. The group can work out who is there when and other details, and this can allow for more than the normal number of people to stay over the year. Avoid the expense and time taken while doing rotations and bouncing between locations. You can save money and not worry about splitting utilities or figuring out furnishings. We take care of it all, so you can focus on your rotations.

Where Are We Located?

For those attending the University of Iowa, our homes are located in Tiffin and North Liberty next to Iowa City. They are adjacent to interstates for quick access to and from wherever you need to go, whether in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, or farther away. You get the feel of a normal town rather than the hustle-bustle of campus. Spend your days at the university but escape back to a regular atmosphere the rest of your time.

These communities offer a quieter environment while being close to grocery stores (Fareway and Hy-Vee); retail stores (Costco, Target, Walmart, and a mall); and restaurants. It is actually a shorter drive (less than five minutes) to most of these amenities from Tiffin or North Liberty than if you were in Iowa City. The convenience of these locations can’t be overstated!
